  2. The next step is to look at our fabric and trim selection and finish off your design. When you find an item that interests you, click on it to see its product detail page. Here you will find more information about the item, including the product option and "Add to cart". It's really that easy. If you don't see a fabric of ours you like, we can make any of our products using your fabric as well - just give us a call for labor only prices and yardage required.

A Folded Roman Shade- Hobble or Pleated Shade is design with overlap ping folds cascading down the full length of the shade. The soft folds (pleats) are sewn in place and are always visible even when the shade is fully lowered. Pleats measure 5-1/2 - 6 inch. As the shade is raised, the folds will overlap starting at the bottom. A custom Folded Roman shade-Hobble or Pleated Shade can have so many different uses. Roman shade can be a great insulator against outside weather and noises. You can add a valance on top (see picture)

  • This shade can be outside or inside mounted.
  • Stiffer heavier fabrics tend to create more folds while softer fabrics will have a more relaxed appearance. The size of the top fold will vary from the other folds, depending on the finished length.
  • This shade is upholstered to a mounting board, which is covered with fabric.
  • The board size for inside mount and outside mount is 1-1/2 x 3/4.
  • This shade has a cord lock that allows you to raise and lower the shade to desired length. You can specify to have the cord on the right or left side.
  • Ad interlining for insulation
  • Blackout Lining + Heavy Flannel Interlining. - Blocks 99% of light;
  • Roman Shades are designed to operate with minimum effort. You may need to adjust the fold slightly when you raise and lower them, which depends on the fabric you have selected. As the shade is used, the fabric will develop a "memory" that lessens adjustments.

    TIPS:

    Swags and cascades are a dramatic treatment for windows. The swag is a drape of fabric which hangs in front of the curtains; the cascades are the elegant lengths of fabric that frame the window on either side. The more formal version is fixed to a valance board, but fabric can be draped informally over a rod as the only form of window dressing. Although the formal swags look best on tall windows, dressing full-length curtains, they can be effective scaled down to suit smaller windows.
